| yes, folks shld understand that the bots can be called and they will respond to certain things. if you call for medic, a medic bot will usually respond. the same with ammo. and on some servers the engi's will also come to you if you do a v 2 4 (we need an engineer!). i dont think the engi's can be called on our version, though. | |

sometimes...i usually have to say "Need a Medic!" about 2-3 times before they actually come and half the time they don't come at all anyway especially when i'm wounded on the ground.

| Omnibots use waypoints to get around maps.
A guide to making waypoint files is on http://www.omni-bot.com/wiki/index.php?title=Omni-bot_Waypointing, and there should be files on the net for most of the common maps.
btw. might want to use this flag: http://et.tjw.org/etpub/docs/#omnibot_flags
A slightly different approach was tried in experimental bots for etpro bobots which, in addition to waypoints, were designed to learn from human controlled players as well. Too bad that one didn't really get finished.

| No, they're still be deciding - whether to go for the objective, to heal you etc. But you can show them the way. | |

i was online in a 2vs3 fight with some people spec, so it would be more fun if there were more people or bots online at that moment. So spec people don't count as real people

| btw can the bots be named, so we could tag them. so we can recognize them quicker
because sometimes they end up in a wrong corner, and when you have to !listplayers first to see if it's a bot or not, they are all whitenames, so it's difficult to reckognize them n sight.
Yesterday i had to gib them a couple of times because they were stuck againt a wall.
On the other hand, playing with these bots is a little bit sad, because some people only care about flaming them or killing as much as possible, while these bots are actually more object-oriented, which is more fun.

| Well the bots are usually named "[BOT] something", but someone decided naming them so that they aren't recognized would confuse people and made them believe they are actual players and join the server. | |

| bots mhm... always giving medicine and ammo even if you dont need if u say "follow me" they're following you enemy's snipers sux puf 1 hit you are dead cause u dont even had time to look arround but player vs. bot (like me and spinaw mp 40 vs. thompson battle 1 vs 1) then they're sux cause dunno how to jump and crawl in battle mm... better is to fight with players, the one or major zem granade school or spinaw's mp40 head shots mode or Remco's flames :D its reall {AR} let bots fight alone... | |

Approach where artificial intelligence can learn from human players can be good and may yield best results ... if you have enough training data. That mean, the bots have to observe the humans playing the map for quite a long time to learn some tactics ....

| Well, of course playing with bots won't be as good as playing with real people but bots can be useful for balancing - if one side is weaker, toss them one or two bots. Or if there are not many people (like 5 people), fill it with bots to 4 vs 4 ...
Especially things like 1 vs 2 or 2 vs 3 are quite unbalanced and one bot on weaker side would fix that pretty well ...
That of course assumes at least somewhat intelligent bot - unfortunately I don't know of such one ...

| Two more annoing things about bots. The rifle nades are too tuff. Bots shoot them over many miles and kill you. Real ppl would be very lucky or skillfull to do so every time.
When you hide somewhere secretly on a good spot as sniper and hit someone, that bot immediately shoots back and hit you. When you are in his back the bots turn around and do so. A human wouldn`t even see you.
