Crash - lost c: drive and et

to any admin,

my c: drive broke down physically last weekend. i've got a new one and am re-installing things. i just put ET and punkbuster back on today and logged into the server, but i've lost all my levels. i couldnt even change my name with 0 levels.

so, could an admin set my levels back to 6 on the server or let me know when to be there so you can?

You couldn't even change your name? Wierd..yet maybe normal in these server settings..
Bad luck on the c-drive thingie.

Levels have no influence on you being able to change your name.

Just watch splatterladder listing, when you see an admin online PM them and then join the game and tell them to check their inbox for confirmation it's real you

well, i tried to rename and it said no such command existed (at least for me). so, maybe i'm somehow playing on the server with the wrong version or something.

and i have no idea what the 'splatterladder listing' is or where to find it.

thanks, guys. i got it renamed.

and, falk set my levels back to 6. however, i've done a complete re-install of 2.55, 2.60 and 2.60b and am going to need to have them set again. the last install was pulled from from a snapshot save and was full of junk files, old crappy sound packs, and old, crappy uniform packs and just loaded with stuff i didnt want to keep. so, i just did the entire thing over again and now have a nice clean ET, but i will have to have the levels set again. i'll catch an admin in-game.

also, there is another way to reset your name. just hi L in the game and look to the upper right. you'll see your name there and if you click on that field, you can erase and re-do your name there as well as from the console.

I find Console easier to do this because you can see what is going on.
BTW next time you erase ET, save the file etkey(located at etmain).
Thats the file that saves your adminlevels.

now, how do you get back old options like being able to vsay from spec? i cant seem to be able to in this new install.

Ehh.. i think the server itself does that.
or do you mean binds?

even i dont have !rename, think its lvl10, but namechangings are possible

I think whaleclient will allow you to vsay in spec
