New Forum Banner

For all you Photoshop experts out there the forum is looking to update the current banner and would like to see all your ideas.
The best ones can be voted on and the winning one will take pride of place at the top of the forum page

The banner should be 809 by 230 Pixels.

You are always welcome, accept maybe on Mondays and Thuesdays. Friday aint that good for me either and Saturday is difficult to, also forget Wednesday..

nice job on the banners every! I like all of them but I am also against whatever leafs suggests by force of habit.

I actually would appretiate a smaller banner. The width is alright but it's a bit too high imo.

Probably not seeing as some people still have a dial-up connection hehe, broadband that is. But hey, sweet idea though I am all for it.

Does anybody here actually still use dial-up? I didn't know you could even really play ET with a dial-up connection.

Is anyone actually going to try and make a banner? I can't because I clearly have no photoshop skills.

I am, judging by the speed of NZ internet.

And even if I wasn't I would still be against anything big (be it dimensions or file size) and especially against animated things.

There's a reason why I use adblock to remove animated avatars from my view and the reason is that movement drags attention. One of the basic webdesign rules therefore is - don't use animations unless dragging attention is your goal.

ha thats my own banner...a small long test...im so stupid, takes me one hour...lol

wel it aint bad, just maybe a bit to many pixels cuz to ET sign is to much spread

also you NO CHEAT sign should be made more clear

and remove that ugly name

nah i must do that et sign bigger, and that no cheat sign smaller..it was a animated gif...but it dosent turn...lol...english programm, and i dont anderstand what i could doo there..lol

it's also important to give information to the people on the webpage, not scaring them away by to much blips and blops

'cause honestly, there is no point telling you that this sig looks great, because it's not

it's pixelated, stretched out and not clear

but as a first attempt it's very good as you seem to have worked with layers
keep on trying and in case you need some help I can give some hints or there are more people here who can also work with photoshop or gimp or something

that program is called Banner Maker Pro, not easy to use, because u cant edit text colour, u have to edit every single a b c d e and put it in the right position....

Well...my browser window (the space available for content) is 635px high - how much space do you reckon the logo should take? My browser window is pretty much the average size - bit bigger than most (1024x)768 display users have and bit smaller than those lucky b****ds with bigger screen have

The basic rule if you want to know how big a logo should be (height matters lot more than width actually i guess, unless we want some info left or right from the logo), go and see how big logos established sites like Google (not the front site, result site), BBC, CNN, Yahoo, Youtube or anything else you can think of use. They have lot of money and can hire experts for their webs designs.

so far, i like killzone's the best. nice and bloody. but i would like to see the {AR} tag on there, too.

Killzone's idea is catchy, but doesn't roll as family clan? What kind of family is that lol?

i kinda like killzones to simple but effective
