Olympics.

I think its time that someone started an olympics discussion thread. I know everyone will be watching at least some sports, so you can at least make a post or two.

Not much is going on right now, and I feel safe saying this as I am 12 hours away and so noone's coverage starts after mine. But try not to ruin it for other people.

Eh, it was a general everyone as in everyone with the chance to and has an interest in sports.

NBC.com I think has live feeds (in English), if you feel the need to watch. I guess my family is extraordinarily sports inclined.

how about chinese gymnastics they all looked way underage but if anything makes the other teames look worse.. getting whooped by a bunch of 12-13 yr olds right?

i know belgium sends about 80 athletes to olimpics and USA about 500....

i dont think were gonna get all the medals

And they are underage. Officialy 16 was (and actualy I think it still is) the minimum age, I think China's youngest is 14 though.

I am usualy not into sports but love the olympics for some reason and try and watch as much as possible.

This will be his 6th of these olympics and his 11th total.

The guys here made the TV work (bought a satellite receiver). I'm just watching women basketball Czech Republic vs. New Zealand.

They may be 12-13, but the good ole U.S. of A. took gold and silver in the individual competition. Even when they cheat they can't win--sad!

USA distance choked again. 100 mens final was amazing. Lagat out, no womens marathon medaleither. Glad Flanagan came through in the 10K.

Jamaica won both the mens and womens 100m dashes. Women from Jamaica went 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Hmmm.....makes you wonder if they'll all pass the pee test! As for the volleyball, I like it. I played sand volleyball for 21 years before messing up my shoulder. Guess that's why they have so many different events, some appeal to different people. I'm not sure why trampoline is an event, but oh well. I was rather upset that the USA gymnast tied for 1st in one of the gymnastic events and was given silver last night due to a technicality. Seems to me like they should give 2 golds like they did for the silvers in the 100m dash for the women.

Yeah, they share medals in all events, and then stole the medal from the poor girl. And its not that I don't like watching volleyball, in fact, its pretty intense, its just that the olympics should be for watching a variety of sports.

What is wrong with underage gymnasts? I mean you peake at being flexible and having more strenght then body weight is about 12-15 years old. What is more striking is the little gilr who was too ugly to sing hfer her country.
