ok have a problem with et

Okay I am trying to connect to old fart server and other servers as well...and i keep getting kicked off and it says this to me: Couldn't load an official pak file; verify your installation and make sure it has been updated to the latest version

i have reinstalled et and patchs..but i still get that error everytime i try to log into a server. i am running out of ideas. Anyone have any more ideas?


this is really starting to annoy me lol..so any suggestions or ideas will be greatly appericated.


edit: also, i have updated pb as well.

If you are using 2.60 or 2.60b et version, open console after you get that error - it will tell you what files are wrong and we can do something about it. If you can't find it, open console after having that error, type in

/condump error.txt

then find error.txt in your etmain or etpub and copy-paste it here.

Did you use the 2.60 patch?

After some searching it seems that you might need to run the 2.60b patch to install the pak1.pk3 and pak2.pk3 files.

Try downloading it from here and see if it works.

If it won't work, pm me USA, i'll send you pak 1 and 2 =]
