My first attempt at a webpage :)

dameian.kicks-ass.net ... Can you all see it? I tried to turn my mac into a webserver to host it, tell me if it works, please!

Ain't working with me either, just keeps on loading the webpage, and then says it can't open the webpage due to the server / host not reacts, or something like that.

Guys, I'm sorry . My dad shut my laptop when he came home last night and I was already asleep. Grrrr....

I'm too cheap to host it so I'm running my laptop like a web server. I'l try it again in a couple min.

Make sure youve opened up the ports through your router too, if you have one that is.

Sure you have to allow it in firewall. By default most firewalls will block any incoming connections. So for a start you need to allow incomming connections for your webserver and add a NAT translation rule to your router if you're behind one.

then third, the DNS address dameian.kicks-ass.net points to wrong IP. You need to use your router's external IP and map the name to that one, what is in it now is local network IP of your computer.


This all being said I hope you don't put much hopes in running a website like this for real - it won't ever work well. But as long as you're just playing around with the technology, you should be alright with your own computer
