| Wel i think everybody has something to suggest to optimize the server
my first suggestion is
remove either goldrush or supergoldrush, because its annoying to play similar map in the cycle(+ add few more maps)
and make it able for members to remove and put back in bots
but i gues you need that zeman file first for levels and such | |

| it would be cool to have more maps in cycle but that's all to eagle but we can make sugestions if most of it agree can eagle change it if he wants and can.. btw baserace is best map ever | |

| A sniper map wouldn't be bad. As long as it didn't go on for 25 minutes......it just gets old after 10 minutes or so.... | |

| btw, for bots baserace might be a not so good idea bots are usally gifted with extremely good sigh and can see through fog straight to your head =] so considering baseraces wide openess(?) its a slaughter field sometimes, also they dunno how to /kill which means they get stuck in the allied spawn bug | |

| schickles, the version of baserace eagle put up works pretty well with the bots. it's the version with the building in the middle of the arena so, the bot's vision is blocked far more than in other versions. it shld be ok.
maps where the bots just cant figure out the objective are ones like password and some of the other complex objective things. i like password, but the bots just cant do it. | |

| i'm guessing that the bots are running on a scipted code. i've never run a bot server so i dont know for sure. but, if this is so, then that script shldnt be too hard to manipulate and code. we could probably do some interesting things with the bots. also, i had this idea a while back and was going to suggest it to ghost, but never did. the idea is about xpsaves. every server out there has some arbitrary way of handling xpsaves and they all make about as much sense as nothing... 24 hours, 3 days, 7 days, forever, and so on and so forth, but they arent based on anything. they're just an arbitrary assignment by the server owner/coder. so, i kept looking for something to hang xpsaves on, something that made sense. this is a war game, based mostly on wwii. ok, the war lasted X amount of time and certainly there were veterans, folks that had been there and learned how to survive better than newbies and ok, that's good and all, but how would you represent that in the game of ET? the only thing i could think of was to go ahead and simulate a full war. and the only way i could think of to do that was to have like 50 maps, or 100, or even 1000 or more. yeah, i know, sounds a bit nuts, but in theory, it's the right way to do it. the server starts with map 1 and goes through map 1000 and then starts over. you come in and play as if a soldier just joining the war and you start gaining xp and keep it for the duration of the war, or, through map 1000. and that's it. once map 1000 is over, so is the war and everything and everyone is reset for the new war. simple and it makes sense. the trick, of course, is space on the server for 1000 maps and if a campaign can hold that many. those things i dont know. i've seen a few servers with fairly large numbers of maps, but never anything over 100. so, 1000 may just be a pipe dream. the reason i picked a large number like 1000 is, the server runs 24 hours a day and is constantly churning through maps whether anyone is there or not and you'd want enough maps in rotation for the 'war' to last longer than just 24 hours. 24 hours or less xp save is a joke. most folks come on only once in 24 hours, if that. so, you'd want a very large map rotation, one that lasted a few days. but again, i dont even know if it's possible. so, it's just an idea at this point | |

| you know kreallin i was just thinking about the same thing a while back how you start off small in training and you have to work your way up. I was also thinking about basing it on what really happened. One of the first missions would be the Allies in France (obviously) trying to push back the axis. Eventually at the end of the cycle it could be like the fight at the rhineland bridge (I know there is already a map for that but none of the events are in order) I think it would be a good idea to not only play but some people get a bit of history in with it 2. You could also throw iin some custom made maps as long as they follow in the sqeuqence and dont thorw the sequence out of order. theres my opinion it would take a while to implement but i think it would be a really cool idea to think about in the future. | |

| 1000 maps sounds cool but if the server would have 1000 maps(im not sure if ET even has 1000 maps) like 800-900 would suck and not all the people would have the time to download all the 1000 maps. and wilk if the server would have that kind of cycle no one would even know they just want to shoot. | |

| Campaign can hold 9 maps at most, but there's other ways. I'm fairly sure it's technically possible to do a map rotation of 700 maps in ET 2.60b.
But it doesn't make sense.
First, have you ever tried to make a cycle of 27 maps that would all be good enough and reasonable size (e.g. not one for 30+ people and another for 12 max)? Try it and tell me how many good maps you've found.
And second, did it ever happen to you that you came in and your favourite map just ended? Or was done too quickly? Was mad that you'd have to wait till it is on again in next cycle run? 20 maps would probably run for about 4-5 hours. Can you imagine you'd see your favourite map once in 8 days? | |

| Yeah well you got a point there. But I think you would be pissed of quiker having to wait for your favorite map on a 20 rotation then on a 700 map rotation. With the 700 map you wont wait. | |

| i like the cycle idea but thats a ehole load of maps and if i remmber correctly when ghost tried to upload a lot of maps the server crashed, your idea is sound in theory but probably not in a actual setting
you should picked 27 mas that are big maps in everyones book (have maps for everyone)
i currently like the map cycle on the etpub server =]
i think you guys should upload some mods tho to make it cool like realism mods | |

| Sad to say, but I think people need familiarity with maps because if they don't, many (including myself especially) will wander around aimlessly. Thus, the teamwork breaks down. I'm not saying I'm against new and different maps. But newer maps need to be broken in and played enough for there to be a decent game out of it. | |
